SELECTED FOR FESTIVAL VUES D'AFRIQUE!

I am excited to share that Xool Ma! ('See me' / 'Regardes-moi!'), a film created with artists living with mental health challenges in Senegal, was selected for the Vues d’Afrique International Film Festival in Canada this April 2026!

This experimental film was first presented in November 2024 during the Biennale de Dakar, alongside an exhibition of paintings created at the art therapy space at the psychiatric clinic in Dakar, with funding from the Luxembourg Embassy in Dakar.

Xool Ma! means ‘See me’ in Wolof and relays a powerful message in a world where people struggling with mental health are too often stigmatized or overlooked.

Through art and storytelling, the artists remind us of something deeply human: everyone deserves to be seen, accepted, and loved.

We are very excited that this film will now reach international audiences at the Vues d’Afrique International Film Festival in Canada!
